Georgian Bay

GEORGIAN BAY
August 6th - Left Port Severn and said Good-bye to the Trent Severn Waterway. Arrived to SouthBay Cove Marina at Honey Harbour. This was a very plush and nice marina. Offers lots of amenities and a great courtesy car. Had Susan and Mark from Squivot over for Farewell dinner. They were going ahead of us and not planning as long a stay on the Georgian Bay.
August 7th to August 9th - Left SouthBay Cove, Honey Harbour and tried to anchor in Frying Pan Harbour but too many people. Went to Beausoleil Island and anchored. This is a national park. Had a YMCA kids camp ashore and lots of hiking trails. Many sailboaters and kyakers. Met up with Linda and Todd, KingFish and went on a hike ashore. Dinghied around to many coves. Met Rodney and Pauline on Two by Two from Austrailia. Stayed here a couple of days due to rain and bad weather.
August 10th - Left anchorage at Beausoleil Island and made a journey to Bay Mooring Marina in Pennetange. Nice marina with many amenities.
August 11th - Left Pennetange and went to Beckwith Island to anchor for the night.
This was my favorite anchorage. Beautiful beaches and water.
August 12th - Left Beckwith Island and went to Frying Pan Island, home of famous Henry's Restaurant. Met Paul, the owner and enjoyed many stories from him. Loved watching the planes landing in the water for a meal at Henry's. Saw Double Trouble (Marty, Gloria and Don) as well as motor vessel, Finally (Jill and Richard) there. Stayed at restaurant dockage for the night.
August 13th and 14th - Left Henry's and journeyed to Big Sound Marina in Parry Sound. Parry Sound is one of the larger townships in Canada. Good shopping there. Took lots of pictures.
August 15th thru 17th - Left Parry Sound and went to Wright's Marina in Byng Inlet. Stayed a couple of days due to nigh winds and weather. Dinghied in for groceries and I walked back due to "Too rough in the harbour" Cooked sphaghetti for Finally, Double Trouble, Dream Fever, Ruth and Wayne from Canada. Met nice Canadians who gave us good info about the North Channel - Marion and her husband.
August 18th - Left Byng Inlet and went to anchor in the Bustard Islands with Finally and Double Trouble. The Bustard Islands are absolutely beautiful. Dinghied around the islands and explored that afternoon. Lots of pictures.
August 19th - Left our anchorage at the Bustard Islands and headed for Mill Lake at Collins Inlet. Anchored there with Double Trouble and Finally. Mill Lake has beautiful rocky cliffs and picturesque scenery. This channel has the grouchy indian rock.
August 20th - Left Mill Lake and headed for North Channel of Georgian Bay.
